With current locations in Hong Kong and Bangkok, Good Design Stores offer award-winning merchandise and educate visitors about Japanese design and products, fulfilling a role in publicity as they enhance the international presence of Japanese design and create business opportunities and support the design community in Asia.
The Good Design Store is the Good Design Award’s first permanent sales and promotional facility to open overseas. The Good Design Store, which combines a shop selling Good Design Award-winning products with a gallery space, serves as an important facility for aiming to increase the presence of Japan’s design around the world. It does so through efforts including public relations activities like holding exhibitions to introduce Good Design Award-winning companies and designers. Currently there are two locations: in Hong Kong and Bangkok. They communicate information broadly on the Good Design Award and design in Japan from these key Asian cities that serve as important centers of industry and culture.
