Design Ambassador Project

Outline

Japan Institute of Design Promotion launched "Design Ambassador Project" as an initiative from Japan aiming at networking the world design industry.
By this project, the next-generation leaders of the design industry across the globe such as organizations engaging in public administration and coordinating design-related events, leaders of academic institutions, entrepreneurs and corporate executives will be invited to Japan as "Design Ambassadors to Japan", to interact with Japanese designer leaders. In addition, through communication in the Media and on social networks, this project offers an international communication platform for design leaders. The project is composed of the following elements:

Network

Desgin Ambassador to Japan

This is the title given to each design leader who visits Japan.
 The title contains the year when the Ambassador was invited to Japan and each recipient is placed on record.

Desgin Ambassador of Japan

Design leaders from Japan.
 Not limited to only designers but also includes educators, business representatives and government officials.




Desgin Ambassador Selecting Committee

The committee reviews design leaders from all over the world and selects amongst them candidates for "Design Ambassadors" .

Committee Meeting

This committee is the organization that selects the candidates for Ambassadors among the design leaders from all over the world and determines those who are invited to Japan.

Media Partner

Each "Design Ambassador" will be introduced in Magazine "AXIS" as well as trough web media "Jiku".
AXIS conducts non-commercial design promotion with the main objective of disseminating information through our publications and design gallery. Our many years of activity from a unique viewpoint has been highly praised and we are widely acknowledged as a representative of the Japanese design world. Our aim is to foster an international network in the design industry and promote positive exchange between designers and companies, including lending a hand in nurturing young talent.
