Personal Mobility [WHILL Model A](WHILL Co., Ltd.)has been selected as this year’s Good Design Grand Award. The model is electric-powered personal mobility vehicle with four-wheel drive’s high driving stability and user-friendliness. Its merchantability as a “fun vehicle” for everyone, physically challenged or not, and the system for development are highly evaluated.

Good Design Grand Award is presented as one “design of the year” product. It is the most voted for design among eight candidates chosen from Good Design BEST 100 for their contemporaneousness, concept, beauty and symbolism. The judges and the winners of Good Design Award and visitors to the Good Design EXPO 2015 all casted their ballots to choose the Good Design Grand Award winner.

The voting for Good Design Grand Award took place at The Ritz Carlton Tokyo on November 4th. After the presentations of eight candidates by their designers, the Personal Mobility [WHILL Model A] won the Grand Award with 2,875 votes.

The actual vehicle of Personal Mobility [WHILL Model A] is currently on display at the exhibition “A feel of the near future,” held at the newly-opened GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi in Tokyo’s Marunouchi district.
