It’s the eighth year of “Bench & Chair Creation Contest of the World “, held in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture.

This year, theme on “Sound and music”, the contest aims at gathering bench or chair design from professional and amateur, regardless of domestic and foreign, for Koriyama, the city of music. After pass the first screening, applicants will choose Koriyama timber with exports and conduct to actual production. Further, the finished product will be placed in the public facilities and trial of Koriyama city, and maintenance by people in shopping street carefully. The 48 works which produced so far by the contest, has been familiar to visitors and many citizens as a place of rest and meet of Koriyama. Please feel free to apply with your incredible idea.

Grand Prix [1]: ¥ 100,000 + Koriyama specialty rice-Asaka Mai one year worth
Second Prize [1]: ¥ 50,000 + Koriyama specialty rice-Asaka Mai six months worth
Third Prize[1]:¥ 30,000 + Koriyama specialty rice-Asaka Mai six months worth
