As the first person invited to JAPAN as ‘Design Ambassador to Japan’, Mr. Michael Thomason get in Tokyo, on Dec, 16, 2012. He visits Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) on the next day, meets Mr. Kazunori Iizuka (President of JDP) and Mr. Shiro Aoki (Executive Director of JDP).

JDP introduces the history of Good Design Award which had been played an important role in Japanese design promotion for a long time, and shares the thought of where the DA Project came from. Mr. Thomson also introduces himself, nowadays situation of the design network and industry in UK and Europe. Besides, as a professional expert on these areas, he shares his experience and thought to the attendees.

After the brief introduction of each other, attended committee members, Mr. Nishiyama, Mr. Tanaka, Prof. Judit and Mr. Thomson exchange their opinions regarding networking activities, design strategy in each country, and discuss the various future possibility of the project.
