From August 6 to 11, as every year’s traditional summer program, “Design Hub・KIDS WEEK” is holding in Tokyo Midtown Design Hub. During this period, various elaborate workshops for children will be deployed in a different theme for every day, and in those workshops, one is mainly conducted by design section of company.

Themes of this time are set of Balloon phone by NTT Docomo and Camera・obscura by Nikon. These Japan's leading companies in various fields conveyed to children through the perspective of design and methods of their own resources and knowledge, one more unique point is the support from those children’s families.

Nikon’s workshop was on the first day, August 6. Workshop set by same company has been hold in 4 times this year, and it’s so popular that we can see repeater parents and children in participation.

Staffs from Nikon’s design department become the center of plan, also provide their own parts and materials used in workshop, moreover, all management was carried out by those staffs themselves as well. Designers belong to those companies become actively involved in fostering the “Curiosity” and "Dream" of children, and this can be understood as part of the social contribution by the company came to be important in recent years. 

But more than this, with unique point of view and expression from designers, if that can lead to much possibility of children, then we can say it is significance work. Or the possibility cannot see and area of unique ability of designer should come alive.
