The Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) is pleased to support the upcoming talk session:

“Just the Right Design: Chodo ii and the Art of Balance”

Organized by Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC/CEA) in collaboration with the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the session will feature Japanese product designer Gen Suzuki, Vice Chair of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2026.

The talk explores the Japanese concept of “Chodo ii” — a sense of balance and appropriateness in design — through contemporary product design, everyday life, and the relationship between people, objects, and function.

Rather than pursuing excess or novelty, “good design” may sometimes lie in creating things that feel naturally right for the way we live.
