Interdesign® Siargao Island 2026 – Call for Participants
The World Design Organization (WDO) will host Interdesign® Siargao Island 2026, a two-week residency programme from 13–24 July 2026 in Siargao Island, Philippines.
This programme brings together designers and professionals from around the world to collaboratively address locally grounded and globally relevant challenges. The 2026 edition will focus on Design Innovation and Resiliency for the Tropics.

Programme Overview
Interdesign® is a residency programme where interdisciplinary professionals collaborate with local stakeholders to develop context-responsive design solutions. Through workshops, field immersions, and guided sessions, participants engage directly with real-world challenges.

The programme will explore the following themes:
Circular economy transformation
Climate resilience and disaster preparedness
Ecosystem restoration and protection
Sustainable and resilient MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) and communities
Who Can Join
The programme welcomes applicants with backgrounds such as:
Designers working at the systems, service, or policy level
Practitioners in industrial design, architecture, interior design, fashion, communication, UX/UI
Professionals engaged in climate resilience, sustainability, or circular economy
Individuals with experience or interest in island and tropical contexts
Innovators and changemakers addressing social challenges
Purpose-driven individuals interested in design, sustainability, and education
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Participant Responsibilities
Interdisciplinary collaboration: Work with diverse professionals to develop context-responsive concepts
Active participation: Commit to workshops, fieldwork, and collaborative sessions
Knowledge exchange: Share expertise and perspectives with peers and stakeholders
Travel arrangements: Arrange international and domestic travel to/from Siargao Island
Voluntary commitment: Participate on a voluntary basis
Support Provided
On-site hospitality: Accommodation, meals, and local transportation during official programme hours
Expert mentorship: Access to international experts and local knowledge holders
Professional development: Learning through the Interdesign methodology
Global network: Connection to a worldwide community focused on social and environmental impact
Field immersion: Facilitated access to local contexts
