The message from the Chairperson for the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025 is “A Small Step, Design Leaps.” Every great transformation begins with a passionate first step. Inspired by individual enthusiasm, these small steps spark designs that bring about significant changes in society. As the momentum of this initial action spreads, it gathers support, leading to an even greater impact. Through the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025, we hope to further accelerate this wave of positive change.

2025 Jury and Award Announcements
This year’s jury will once again be chaired by Mr. Seiichi Saito (Creative Director), with Mr. Jin Kuramoto (Product Designer) and Ms. Yuko Nagayama (Architect) serving as Vice Chairs. In total, approximately 100 jurors from diverse backgrounds, including international experts, will participate in the evaluation process.

A key update for 2025 is the introduction of the GOOD DESIGN GOLD AWARD for the top 20 entries in each of the 20 categories. Additionally, on Wednesday, October 15, we will announce all winners, including the GRAND AWARD recipient.
Overview of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025
Eligibility & Entry Conditions
Eligible Entries: Products, architecture, applications, software, content, services, systems, and projects utilizing design—whether tangible or intangible. Open to both domestic and international entries, for consumer or professional use.
Entry Conditions: Entries must be publicly disclosed by October 15, 2025, and must be available for purchase or use by March 31, 2026.
Who Can Apply: Business entities responsible for the design (e.g., manufacturers) and design firms.
Fees: Evaluation fees, exhibition fees, and other costs apply depending on the stage of the process.
How to Apply: Submit required information via the official Good Design Award application page by 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 22.
Support for Applicants from Ishikawa Prefecture
For applicants whose primary business location (or main office for sole proprietors) is in Ishikawa Prefecture, the first and second screening fees, as well as the winner package fees, will be waived for the 2025 edition (excluding certain optional fees). Additionally, 2024 award recipients from Ishikawa will receive a one-year free license for the G Mark if applied for by March 31, 2025, as part of ongoing reconstruction support efforts.
