JDP concluded MOU regarding mutual design promotion with Directorate of Export Product Development (DGNED), Ministry of Commerce, Indonesia in 2017 and assists organizing Good Design Indonesia (GDI).

The 2nd GDI selection was implemented on July 3 and 4 at DGNED in Jakarta by 9 jury members.

Mr.Hiroaki Watanabe, industrial designer and judge of Good Design Award joined as jury and 8 Indonesian professionals from various design sectors also formed the team.

There were 253 entries across 6 categories, which was double of last year, and 25 of them were selected as GDI. 7 “Best” was selected from GDI winners and “Terios” by PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor

was selected as Good Design Indonesia of the Year.

The winners will be exhibited at Trade Expo in Jakarta in mid October and Best winners can join Good Design Award 2018 from 2nd screening, skipping 1st screening.

At Good Design Exhibition 2018 which will exhibit all award winners in Tokyo during October 31 to November 4, Indonesian Booth will show the awarded products.

- Encourage the understanding of the importance of design as an additional value

  to Indonesian Industry.

- Enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian products in Global market and export promotion

- Being the gateway to the global standard of design

Eligibility

Mass produced craft products or industrial products and 2 of the below are cleared:

- Designed in Indonesia

- Sold in Indonesia

and

- Produced in Indonesia
