Japan Institute of design(JDP) and Ingenious Switzerland (currently, The Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects, SIA) concluded Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration of mutual design promotion in September, 2013. Since then, we have developed a project which can contribute to encouraging young designers and from 2015, the young designers’ workshop exchange program has launched, finally.

Particularly, 5 each selected young designers from both countries visit the other country in cooperation with local manufacturer/company and hold a workshop. And the products created through the workshops will be shown at the exhibitions. At first, in this February, Japanese designers visited Switzerland and held workshop. Then, from May 18, Swiss designers will come to Japan and visit Ishinomaki for collaboration workshop.
The results of those workshops will be exhibited at JIDA gallery in October and November, during Tokyo Designers week.
